Needle fracture in local anesthesia for dental procedures is an uncommon complication that, if not properly diagnosed and conducted, might be potentially harmful or even life-threatening. Fractured needles must be promptly located, through image exams. Though, controversial approaches have been advocated, from radiographic follow-up to surgically exploratory surgery. Herein, is reported a case of a two years old child with a fractured needle in the anterior maxilla occurred 12h earlier in the dental pediatric office. The needle was surgically retrieved under general anesthesia with uneventful postoperative evolution.
